In 2018, Leanne and Bear sold their house, quit their jobs, and headed north to British Columbia’s Cariboo region to pursue a life running a rustic resort. They traded in big salaries and stability for an adventure-filled life full of freedom and hard work. They say the first five years in business are the toughest, and that couldn’t be more true. A pandemic, wildfires, floods, unexpected renovations, and countless challenges tested their resolve.

But through it all, they poured their blood, sweat, and tears into their venture—finding plenty of laughs along the way. It’s their story of taking a leap into the unknown and redefining success on their own terms.
