January 12, 2021

Dear valued guests,

CLOSED FOR WINTER 2020/2021 (Re-opening May 1)

With the uncertainty of the virus, we  made the personal decision to close this winter season. It was not a decision we made lightly. In our second year of operation we had hoped to build the winter market, but recognize this is simply not the time. Thanks for your understanding. We wish everyone a safe winter season.

**We are aware of a Covid-19 outbreak in the Canim Lake community as of January 11th, 2021.  Recent update.

UPDATE ON GROUPS FOR 2021

As we rapidly have to evolve our business model with a temporary move away from large groups to smaller groups and individual bookings we have made some big decisions for 2021 and the upcoming months. Keep in mind this decision is for the safety of our guests and community as we navigate the next year.

We are not booking large groups or family reunions for 2021 as we expect gathering caps to still be in place for next summer, and we can’t risk another spring of mass cancellations. If we have not already connected with you about your group booking next year, please give me a call to discuss what this means for you. If you are a part of one of these groups scheduled for next year, please reach out to your group organizer for details.

GENERAL UPDATES

To ensure the safety of our staff and the Canim Lake community, we are taking increased safety precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. With the newly placed provincial guidelines, please expect the following changes:

  • There will be a contactless check-in in the office and if you wish to e-transfer your balance prior to arrival that is an option.
  • Cleaning protocols for cabins and condos are in place. Staff will have access to full PPE while cleaning. We have removed "high-contact" items from units such as magazines, brochures, salt and pepper shakers, extra blankets and throw pillows. If you are in a condo or cabin and would like an extra blanket for your stay we ask that you bring these.
  • We will be limiting visitors inside the office to check-in/check-out and water rentals only throughout the fall. No scheduled office hours.
  • Only one person from your group will be allowed in the office at any given time and we ask you sanitize your hands at the station before entering.
  • Check-in and check-out times may be changed to ensure adequate cleaning and turnover time in condos and cabins.
  • Please do not go into other people's condos and cabins. Stick to your own units.
  • Please socially distance from anyone outside your bubble and be respectful of others on the property.

RVs

- Check-out 11am

- Check-in 1pm

Condos and Cabins

- Check-out - 11:00am

- Check-in - 2:00pm

  • We will be following the BC medical health officer’s directions concerning physical distancing with all our guests.

As always deposits remain non-refundable unless there are travel restrictions in place or we are closed. Deposits are how we pay our mortgage, liability insurance, taxes and other expenses to keep us going through the whole year.

As a small business in our second year of operation, this is an extremely challenging time and we thank you for your understanding as we try to find solutions that work for everyone.

We recognize this is an evolving situation. We will continue to update you as we find out more information. Thanks again for all the support.

We look forward to hosting you!
